The Face of Music in Iran

Very nice to meet: this is Arash Yousefian, and i can't stop listening to his song Ghalb, although i'm usually very selective in music. if you like his tie d/l here.

These guys are doing persian hip-hop which is very popular in Iran, at least as far as i can see in persian music websites. the quality is not super but still, for me it's very refreshing to hear some persian words on the beats.
I also think the sign with the hand is very cool. check 'em out, they called: Sarkesh, Shayan Yoyo and Nami E. d/l here.
Last week i have read that some of the "undergroud" hip hop makers got arrested and some of their studios shut down. i guess this islamic regime is a pain in the ass but i know that music is superior to any religous rule, and if you wanna make music you will make it no matter what rules this islamic regime will have.

Breaking News: "Iran is not Your Enemy"

it's like saying ahmedinejad is not sexy . :)

Shin Bet reveals it has uncovered attempts by Iran to recruit Israeli Jews of Iranian descent to spy for Islamic republic.

the television in Israel says that Iran is NOT defined by Israel as an enemy. ha!

i guess i should shut down my blog now, ha ?

Babol University Protest

my fellow blogger kamangir wrote about the protest in Babol university in Iran:

"students in a small University in the northern province of Mazandaran started a protest against the oppressive policies of the Islamic Republic. While student protests are nothing new in Iran, this time there is something indeed new. In three days, students have started a blog and have managed to fill it with pictures and statements. There is also footage from the kidnapping of one of the students by the Police in the blog".

here are some pictures and some fresh faces:

long shot

i can't finish without expressing my solidarity with the students in Israel. i'm sure nobody really knows what they are fighting for but hey, i'm home, i'm blogging and i hope that someday university will be free.

Tehran Metro

most Israelis would be surprised to know that Tehran has a Metro, not as good as the old English one but that's better than nothing. i read that last monday Iran celebrated the "national nuclear day" and the metro was free. this is what they call the Muslim "kindness".

it has only 5 lines. here is the map:

and now take a virtual tour:
